Hello,
I have a HP ENVY - 13-ab057na which I want to connect to a second external monitor (already have one connected to the laptop's hdmi port) - I bought a usb c / hdmi adaptor and this doesn't work on this laptop (however it works on a newer laptop I have) - is video support via usb c not available on this HP envy laptop? I have seen other similar problems mentioned on the board but none specify this particular model of laptop (it's about 5 years on now).
Thanks
Steven

The specs of your machine is
https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c05387352
It ONLY has 1 Basic USB Type-C™ 3.1 Gen 1 port which does NOT support Alt mode nor Power Delivery. You can NOT use it to
- Charge your machine
- Connect to an external monitor with / without hub/dock/adapter
Regards.
