Is this only happening on the X360 Spectre 2015 model? Has anybody with the 2016 model (Ash Silver w/ copper trim) had a cracked screen problem, too?

Thanks for your reply. I was hoping this would have been a resolved issue with the 2016 model, but I guess not.

Add me to the list. Mine has a small crack that is spreading quickly. I'm very careful with all my electronics and have never had a problem with anything else. This is obviously a faulty design and HP needs to take responsibility for it. Has there been any update on a potential class action case? I will be pursuing small claims court unless HP customer service can resolve the issue for me. Waiting to hear from you HP customer care.

Can you post a picture of the crack? We have had severall photos of cracks appaearing from the left down corner where the holder enters the screen...

Please let me know how the small claims court goes. I have put in a complaint a BBB but am thinking about going to court myself.

Just to let people know, I did eventually get mine repaired by HP, but you have to be very persistant and patient.

 

Has taken me c 4 months.  

 

Just a word of advice - I would suggest you keep notes record of all contacts etc - I noticed the HP Support web systems have now changed and its difficult to even get a phone number without an in warranty system - mine went out of the warranty period during the 4 months and without paying for a chargeable call the support number is not straightforward to get, in fact it looks designed to dissuade people from contacting.

i'm looking for the procedure to replace the touch screen+lcd panel from the aluminium lid.

i found some tutorial on youtube but not for this specific laptop that is slightly different than the others.

So I spoke to the case manager and we agreed to have my laptop sent in, they sent me a box and I shipped it back. The case manager was somewhat helpful and accommodating although i can definitely tell that they acted like they were doing me a favor by paying for the shipping and doing all this. I was very persistent and relentless about making them fix my computer which is still in warranty btw. They sent me an email a day ago letting me know that they will replace the screen at NO CHARGE. Still waiting for it though.. fingers are crossed.
