See if this works...
Download the zip file version of the Intel graphics driver from the link below (2nd one down on the left).
Unzip the file to its driver folder.
Go to the device manager.
Click to expand the Display Adapters device manager category.
Click on the Standard VGA adapter listed there.
Click on the driver tab. Click on Update Driver.
Select the Browse my computer for driver software option, and then at the bottom of that window, select the Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.
Click on Have Disk, and browse to the unzipped Intel graphics driver folder>Graphics>igdlh (setup information file), click Next, and hopefully, the driver will install.
Then restart the PC, and see if the graphics is working properly.

Hi:
What is the full model number or product number of your g6 notebook?
The product number can be found on the same label as the serial number.
Please do not post the serial number.
The most likely cause of your dilemma is that the graphics driver is not installed.

How can that be when there are only W7 64 bit drivers posted on the support page?
If you go to the device manager, click to expand the Display Adapters device manager category, what do you see showing up there?
If you see a Standard VGA adapter, that means the graphics driver is not installed.
You need to be seeing a specific model Intel or AMD graphics adapter listed there.
I cannot find any specs on your model's hardware so I don't know what processor and graphics it comes with.

Yep, that is your problem.
You are missing the Intel graphics driver.
See if this one works...
This package provides the Intel video drivers, Control Panel and Display audio driver for the platforms listed in supported notebook models and operating systems.
