hp elite x2 1013 g3 Displayport Over USB-C alt mode not working

I'm trying to connect a portable monitor to the HP Elite X2 tablet's one of the 3 USB-C ports using ONE USB-C cable but I could not get it to work.

I tried the following methods while being plugged-in:

• connect the monitor to the top first port (the Displayport port): the monitor not power on, no error, nothing happens.
• connect the monitor to the top first port (the Displayport port) AND the power adapter: the system detects the monitor and everything works.
• connect the monitor to the second/third port (the Thunderbolt 3 ports): the monitor power on with no signal and got an "Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed) error in the device manage with the constant device plug/unplug sounds.

The same monitor with the cable works just fine on the Dell Precision 5520 that has a Thunderbolt 3 port and doesn't need another cable for power.

I'm pretty sure the table support the single-cable-connection because if I charge the tablet through a USB-C hub, which has power pass through and HDMI port), the monitor works with either one of the remaining USB-C ports. So the USB-C hub works like an "enabler" for the system to enable the video output mode via it's USB-C ports, or the hub turning the device into "docked" state?

So there are two possible issues here when not using the USB-C dock:

1. For the Displayport over USB-C port, it doesn't seem to provide power for the external monitor.
2. For the Thunderbolt ports, the system fails to detect the external monitor and load the proper driver.

I have tried playing around with the USB and Thunderbolt settings in the BIOS but still couldn't get monitor to work with just one cable.

Anyone experience something similar? Is there a setting I'm not aware of? Thanks for stopping by!
