Pavilion 15-au109TX
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have my brand new HP Pavilion Notebook 15-au109tx

in its first month I've experienced glitches on my screen while using the browsers Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge. Also, when I was doing my projects in Adobe Photoshop CS6 and Microsoft Word 2016. At times where I play the games like GTA San Andreas, osu, and Spartan Strike glitches can be seen as well.

Few weeks later I decided to consult it on the shop I bought it. They told me that it would be better if the laptop was format just like when I first bought it. Still 1 week after it was formated it happened again, the glitch. I only installed Mozilla Firefox and Despicable Me: Minion Rush, while playing the game the glitch came up.

Hello, @SharmXXX – Hope you are well 🙂

Allow me to welcome to HP Support Forums! It is a great platform to get help from the community, get suggestions and find what has worked for others!

I understand that you are having issues while browsing online and while playing games. Going through your notes, I am not very sure about the issue that you are facing. Could you please explain about the glitch in details? What exactly happens when you play the game? Does your screen freeze or are there any other errors? Let me know!

While awaiting for your reply, I would like you to try these steps to try and fix the issue:

Update Display Adapter driver:

  1. Select the Start  button, type Device Manager, and select it from the list of results.
  2. Expand one of the categories to find the name of your device, then right-click (or tap and hold) it, and select Update Driver. For graphics cards, expand the Display adapters category, right click your graphics card and select Update Driver.
  3. Select Search automatically for updated driver software.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the update.
  5. Restart the PC once done.

Update the Flash player:

Alternatively, try the steps mentioned here: http://hp.care/2p36KCj Ignore the steps that you have already done.

Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance!

Good luck 🙂

Hi! I've experienced some sort of glitch on my au109tx too. I'm not sure if it is the same issue though. My experience was there were sudden white lines showing on my screen when using graphic-intensive apps. It's sort of the same as static on TV but on a minimal state, just lines. However, I'm no longer experiencing the same now that I have had updates done with drivers and etc. I'm not sure if it is totally fixed already but I'll be on a look out for same experiences and keep you posted if it does return.

Are you experiencing the same? please let me know. Thanks!

The glitch looks like that most of the time.

The first glitch happened while I was doing our research paper and magazine, the laptop was just on its first week when it happened. Sometimes when I just open my laptop it becomes like that. When I play games and browse on different search engines in the internet for about 1 to 4 hours it happens. I got worried if something was wrong with the laptop that my parents bought me so we went back to the shop were we bought it and consulted about the glitch but they could not answer my question saying that next time bring your laptop. Once again we went to the shop carrying the laptop so that they could see what was wrong but we waited for around an hour if the glitch might show up but it didn't show up. They decided to reset/format the laptop just like how we bought it.

After they reset/ format the laptop it got slower everytime I opened it. After 2 or 3 weeks the glitch happened again but this time it happens more often and when I open my file explorer it takes around 30 min. before I could see my files.

I will update my laptop now just likewhat you recommended. I hope it can solve the glitches of my laptop. Thank you.

Hello Nolitoh1205, does the glitch looks like this (at the photo below) or was it different?

Hello, @SharmXXX

Thanks for sharing the images. This is definitely helpful 🙂

Did you try updating the drivers? If the issue persists, I would like to test the screen in BIOS window.

  1. Restart the PC and immediately start tapping the "Esc" key to get to the Startup Window.
  2. Now press the F10 key to get to the BIOS screen.
  3. Check if the BIOS screen also has the same glitch or if the screen is whole.

Thanks, I'll watch for your reply!

Cheers 🙂

The glitch isn't a regular thing... it just just shows up randomly and I can't seem to figure out what causes it. However, I still did what you asked... and as expected no glitch was seen. I haven't been experiencing it lately... is there anything wrong with the LCD Panel's shielding?
