Hi @Tony657,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand your HP Envy 360 isn't detecting your Dell external monitor, here are some steps to troubleshoot the issue:

Check Connections:

  • Ensure the cable connecting your monitor to the laptop is securely plugged in at both ends.
  • If you're using an adapter (e.g., HDMI to DisplayPort), check that it's functioning correctly.

Select the Correct Input Source:

  • On the Dell monitor, use the on-screen menu to ensure the correct input source is selected (e.g., HDMI, DisplayPort).

Detect Display:

  • Right-click on the desktop and select Display settings.
  • Scroll down to Multiple displays and click Detect to force Windows to search for the external monitor.

Update Graphics Drivers:

  • Go to Device Manager (press Win + X and select Device Manager).
  • Expand Display adapters, right-click your graphics adapter, and choose Update driver.
  • Follow the prompts to search automatically for updated driver software.

Check Display Settings:

  • In Display settings, ensure that the external monitor is not set to "Disconnected" or "Off".
  • You can also try adjusting the display mode by pressing Win + P and selecting different options like Duplicate or Extend.

Restart Your Laptop and Monitor:

  • Sometimes a simple restart can resolve detection issues.

Test with Another Cable or Monitor:

  • If possible, test with a different cable or monitor to rule out any issues with the hardware.

Check for Hardware Issues:

  • If none of the above steps work, there may be a hardware issue with the laptop's HDMI/DisplayPort or the monitor itself.

I hope this helps.
