@ArgusTV, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand your HP Pavilion Laptop PC 15-eg2000 is not powering on. Let’s go through some steps to help resolve this issue.

Perform a Hard Reset

This helps drain residual electrical charge that might be preventing startup.

  1. Disconnect the AC adapter and remove any external devices (USB drives, printers, etc.).
  2. Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds.
  3. Reconnect the AC adapter (leave the battery in if it's non-removable).
  4. Try turning on the laptop.

If your laptop has a removable battery, remove it before holding the power button.

Check the Power Adapter and Port

  • Ensure the power adapter is plugged into a working wall outlet.
  • Check for any LED light near the charging port or on the adapter.
  • If there’s no light, try a different compatible HP charger if available.

Use the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics Tool

If the laptop powers on but doesn’t boot, run a hardware diagnostic:

  1. Turn off the laptop.
  2. Press the power button, then immediately press the Esc key repeatedly until the Startup Menu appears.
  3. Press F2 to open HP PC Hardware Diagnostics.
  4. Select Component Tests > Power and follow the prompts.

Perform a BIOS Recovery (if applicable)

If the screen stays black but the power light is on, try a BIOS recovery:

  1. Turn off the laptop.
  2. Press and hold Windows + B, then press and hold the power button for 2-3 seconds.
  3. Release the power button but continue holding Windows + B until you see the BIOS recovery screen.

If none of the above steps work, the issue may be hardware-related, you may visit the nearest HP authorized service center, the service team will check and assist you.
Kindly follow this link to locate the nearest HP service center: HP® Service Center Locator - India | HP® Support
(Select the country from the dropdown menu and enter the city name or pincode)

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
