I downloaded the Intel High-Definition (HD) Graphics Driver but when i go to install it, I get a message from Microsoft and I can't get past it to install.  Where do I go from here?

I think I am done now.  I would have thought this was a easy issue to resolve as I know I am not the only one having this issues with a flickering screen.  I will keep the one I have on now as it is working at the moment.

Hello @justame81

Was the display driver in Windows <Device Manager> updated by the action or not ? No more flickering ?

Kind regards

I am back on Intel Plus graphics.  This is the one I had the original issues with, but it is working now.  If I have issues again, I will try again.

HP warranty valid -> Contact HP Support for service repair / bios update / intel driver update

HP warranty expired:

Live with the error and wait for a bios or driver update from HP ...

Good luck

Hi,

I have an HP Notebook 15s-fq1002na and I had exactly the same problem. When booting up my Windows 11 laptop it was fine logging in, and the desktop looked OK, until I moved the curser. Then the display would flicker between displaying black and the windows desktop screen. However, as already mentioned by others, if I restarted the laptop it would display fine with no flickering, until I shut it down. If I booted the laptop up after 10 minutes of the last shutdown, it would flicker again after logging in and moving the cursor,  and a restart would solve it temporarily until the next bootup.

When checking the Display Adapter in Device Manager (in Control Panel) it showed (by right-clicking on the Intel(R) driver and selecting Properties) an Intel(R) UHD Graphics driver dated October 2020. If I tried to update it or remove it and re-install it automatically on bootup, the same driver and driver date was re-installed. Windows 11 trouble shooter would tell me I already had the up to date driver. I tried updating the BIOS which updated OK, but did not cure the flickering.

I have solved my issue by downloading the Intel Driver & Support Assistant at https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/intel-driver-support-assistant.html

When running the above, it detected that my Display Driver was incorrect and suggested I download and install the DCH Driver shown on their assistant webpage. (Don't be thrown by the acronym, DCH, this is an Intel driver for a particular group of processors which the support assistant recognises that you have. The message you get and recommended driver may differ). Installing the recommended driver took a few minutes and a reboot. After rebooting I checked my display Adapter in Device Manager. It still shows the Intel(R) UHD Graphics adapter, but now has the version dated  24/08/2022, a newer version, which Windows appears not to be aware of when it checks for the most up to date driver. I've only had the newer driver for around 24 hours, but I've had no flickering problems since the install. If you try this, obviously make sure you create a system restore point first, and only if you have a Intel(R) UHD Graphics adapter showing in Device Manager with a date older than 24/08/2022.

I hope this helps someone.
