Dear HP Support Team,
I am writing to report an issue with the HP Pen that came bundled with my HP Envy x360 Convertible 13-ay1xxx laptop. The pen has two buttons and appears to be an HP Rechargeable MPP 2.0 Tilt Pen or similar.
Despite being fully charged, the pen is not being detected by the laptop. I have tried the following troubleshooting stepshank

Hi @rapolu,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your laptop!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Check Pen Charge:
- Ensure the pen is fully charged by placing it on the magnetic pen attachment and charger area of your HP Envy x360. The LED on the pen should indicate charging status.
- Blinking amber: Battery is low.
- Static amber: Pen is charging.
- Off: Pen is fully charged.
Bluetooth Connection:
- Make sure that Bluetooth is enabled on your laptop. Go to System Preferences > Bluetooth and ensure it is turned on.
- Try pairing the pen again by pressing and holding the top button of the stylus for a few seconds to enter pairing mode. The pen should appear in the list of available Bluetooth devices on your laptop. Select it to pair.
Reinstall Drivers:
- Open Device Manager on your laptop and expand the Human Interface Devices section.
- Find the HP Pen or similar device, right-click on it, and select Uninstall Device.
- Restart your laptop and the drivers should reinstall automatically. Alternatively, you can download and install the latest drivers from the HP Support Website.
Update Firmware:
- Ensure your laptop's BIOS and HP System Event Utility are up to date. You can download the updates from the HP Support Website.
Calibrate Pen:
- Go to Settings > Devices > Pen & Windows Ink.
- Select Calibrate under the Screen section, and follow the instructions to calibrate your pen and touch settings.
Reset Pen:
- Try resetting the pen by pressing and holding both buttons on the pen simultaneously for about 10 seconds and then release. This should reset the pen to its default settings.
I hope this helps.
