I am trying to use my laptop (HP-17-e020us) with an external monitor connected using the HDMI port with the laptop cover closed. How can I do this without the laptop suspending operation?
Thanks

Hello;
Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!
Since you didn't bother to tell us which OS version you're running, I can not possibly provide you detailed instructions for a particular OS ...
But in general ... you go into Power Options. Once there, if you look around, you will see something along the lines "Choose what Closing the Lid does ..." (or something like that).
One of the options should be "nothing". Select that.
Good Luck
