Hi Alden,
thank you for your reply. The hard reset did not help. I tried with an external monitor (via a USB-C to HDMI adapter) and there are no issues, so the problem is likely not with the video card, but with the built-in display. The issue often appears when waking up the laptop from sleep as the others said. I also noticed that the computer is quite warm after being in sleep, which never happened before the BIOS update. Hope it will help you to fix the problem.

Ahaah,,, so it’s a new kind of policy,,, bring out an update that wrecks everybody’s laptop after the garantie has expired and then expect everyone to buy a new laptop or ‘let it repair’ or course!! Nice one!! Smart thinking!!

By the way yesterday I’ve installed some new bios system drivers f.22rev a
and updated my window 11 to version 22h
and the white edges Are gone!!
So I don’t know know of both what the solution was.
but I guess it’s better then waiting for an answer from the support here!

Wait can you tell us exactly what did you do?
Where did you get the BIOS? from HP? which release date? have you tried charging the laptop while suspended?
Did you use a clean installation of Windows? (Without the HP bloatware)
Greetings!
PS: I thought that it would be worth the try but it didn't work. F22A BIOS from November 8 2022 + Windows 11 Install

Guys, HP has released a new BIOS version (F.23) via optional driver updates in Windows Update. This issue is gone for me after installing the update. Steps to install:
1) Open Settings (Windows + I), then Windows Update, then Advanced options, then Optional updates.
2) Look for HP Inc. - Firmware - 15.23.0.0 and install it. You will have to reboot the laptop.
3) Turn off the computer and let it cool down for several hours. After this, the issue was gone for me. I guess that the root cause was overheating of the display/videocard during the sleep mode.

OK, I'm downloading it.
So, did you try to charge the laptop while "sleeping" ?
Thanks in advance I'll keep you updated
Edit: Thank you @Peter399 it seems to be solved! The new F23 BIOS is the magic cure.

Hi Carlos,
glad to hear that it helped 👍 Yes, I usually leave the laptop plugged overnight and during the last months, it was warm in the morning. After installing the F.23 BIOS, the problem is gone, so I guess that the root cause was overheating when sleeping.
