hello, i have a 4k monitor and want to use it to watch videos on the laptop but whenever i watch videos on it and go full screen it has massive frame rates drops even though the video is 1080p, when i make the screen 1080p though and play the same video it doesent happen

Even video only FHD but machine still has to generate massive information for a FULL 4K screen that why when you reduce its size to FHD it will play on a smaller screen.

ok but i can play 4k videos on my laptop and it doesent lag and its only using 40% cpu when i full screen it

Probably you connect your machine to the monitor using its HDMI 1.4 port. You have to get lower refresh rate to be able to use full 4K external monitor.

no? the monitor shows 4k 60 and works as 4k 60, that isnt the problem lol, the problem is when i watch youtube the frame rate tanks for no reason
