@smc381,

In this scenario, I would suggest here is to uninstall the wireless drivers from device manager:

Right-Click on start button> click device manager> Network adapters>then select the wireless drivers and right-click on it and uninstall the Wifi drivers.

Then restart the computer and check if you are able to go online.

Finally, please update the bios, chipset and wifi drivers from this link: http://hp.com/drivers Please select the country and follow the on-screen instructions.

Also, download and install HP support assistant on your PC. It should automatically download and install the latest updates and drivers for your PC.

Refer this link to know how to use HP support assistant.

Let me know how it goes!

Cheers 🙂

Having very similar issues. WiFi adapter just does not show up 50% of the time the computer is booted up.  Did the F2 test. Sometimes it passes (have WiFi when booted up). Sometimes it fails (no WiFi when booted)  Had this SAME problem 6 months ago.  Was a struggle, but eventually they fixed it in under warranty. Of course, now my Warranty is gone. Is there anyway I can speak to someone in HP Support that would be sympathetic to the situation? Seems they did not fix it fully the first time..... Thanks.

Do you have same laptop 15-db0997na? What network adapter do you have, RTL882ICE 802.11ac PCIe?

I called HP today regarding my laptop still not working despite them fixing it, spoke to someone who said they had high volumes of calls so he was taking names and details and people would get a callback.............................callback never came :HalfEyes:

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).

If you are unfamiliar with how the Community's private message capability works, you can learn about that here.

Thank you for this.

I did manage to speak to someone today who seemed to think it was due to Bluetooth being on, I had no idea it was on.  Is it correct you cannot have Bluetooth on and expect Wifi to work too? I use Bluetooth very occasionsally and never noticed it affecting Wifi on my previous laptop, so is this an HP thing?

They said if it is not the Bluetooth causing it then I need to speak to internet provider about changing Wifi channel. Seems odd as every other device connects fine without constant dropping.

I had the exact same problem as you had and I am on a HP 15-db0955nd. In order to fix this problem, I have turned off the bluetooth due to known interference of 2.4 Ghz networks and bluetooth. I have also installed the following drivers for my network card which is a Realtek RTL8822BE 802.11ac adapter (see attachment). If turning off the bluetooth does not work I suggest you to update your network drivers according to the following site: https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=%09Realtek+Semiconductor+Corp.+Net

I hope this fixes your problem!
