Hi @Aaron341,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

If your HP Victus 15 gaming laptop is having trouble maintaining a steady connection to a 5GHz Wi-Fi network, there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:

Update Network Drivers:

  • Go to the Device Manager by right-clicking the "Start" menu and selecting "Device Manager."
  • Expand the "Network adapters" section.
  • Right-click your Wi-Fi adapter and select "Update driver."
  • Choose "Search automatically for updated driver software."

Check Wi-Fi Adapter Settings:

  • In Device Manager, right-click on your Wi-Fi adapter and select "Properties."
  • Go to the "Advanced" tab, where you can adjust settings related to the adapter.
  • Ensure that the "Wireless Mode" is set to support both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands.

Power Management Settings:

  • Go to Device Manager, right-click on your Wi-Fi adapter, and select "Properties."
  • Go to the "Power Management" tab and make sure "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" is unchecked.

Windows Updates:

Ensure that your system is running the latest version of Windows 11 by checking for updates in "Settings" > "Update & Security" > "Windows Update."

Forget and Reconnect to the Network:

  • Go to "Settings" > "Network & Internet" > "Wi-Fi" and click on "Manage known networks."
  • Select your 5GHz network and choose "Forget."
  • Reconnect to the network by selecting it from the list of available networks and entering the password.

Take care and have an amazing day!
