HP Spectre x360 Convertible 15-df1xxx - 8UK98EA#ACQ
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Good Day

I bought the HP Spectre x360 Convertible 15-df1 a couple of weeks ago. It has never run into any problems until this week. My laptop froze and then I had to hard reboot it. When it booted up again I got an error message saying Non-HP battery detected even though nothing was changed to the battery ( It is not a removable battery in any case). I got this error a couple of times on every restart. I did a manual BIOS update and it fixed that problem ( I did a couple of restarts and shutdowns just to make sure).

Two days later when I booted my laptop up again I got a BSOD error saying Netwtw08 is the reason. In the report log it says Intel(R) Wi-Fi 6 AX200 160MHz : Has encountered an internal error and has failed. I was unable to log into windows because it happens every time after sign in. I had to boot my laptop in safe mode and re-install all the network drivers and reset all the WIFI settings. This fixed the problem. What I want to know is why did these two errors happen? This is a brand new laptop and also a top of the range one so I wouldn't expect this to happen. I didn't do anything funny that should have resulted in these errors.

Another question, is it normal for the Spectre to run hot. I have read that it gets hot since it is a thin and powerful laptop. I run intensive programs like AutoCad and Solidworks so it gets a little hot but it won't damage my laptop right?

Thank you and best regards

@JasonVV

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:

  • 1. Go to Start, search for Device Manager, and open this result.
  • 2. Expand batteries.
  • 3. Right-click on the ACPI option (usually the 2nd option) and select delete or uninstall. Follow the prompts.
  • 4. Shut down the computer.
  • 5. Disconnect the charger.
  • 6. Remove the battery.
  • 7. Hold down the power button for 1 minute.
  • 8. Insert the battery only.
  • 9. Attempt to turn the battery on.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
