Spectre X360, 13-4105ng x360,
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My Spectre is connected to the internet via WLAN. The Operating System (Win 10) was updated a few days ago.

The Bluetooth System does not detect any Bluetooth devices any more. It keeps searching without any detected devices. There are no error messages. In the devices list in the system the bluetooth speakers are not displayed.

The problem is permanent

My Bluetooth speakers functioned with this Spectre a few days ago. These Speakers work with my Smartphone and Bluetooth connection without any problems.

My Samsung smartphone is near the Spectre with bluetooth enabled. It was coupled with the spectre a few weeks ago and functioned, but suddenly this does not function any more either. The smartpjone connects to other bluetooth devices (and the bluetooth speakers) without any problems.

I tried to connect to the speakers with the Spectre after disabling the speakers in the smartphone bluetooth connection- no success.

I have tried deinstalling and reinsatlling the bluetooth drivers in the Spectre- but the result is the same. The system says that the bluetooth is functioning and that the drivers are up to date.

Your help would be much appreciated.

With best regards

Ivor Novello

Hi SDJL,

thank you for your reply and help. Unfortunately I had already tried your suggestions before. The HP Spectre simply does not detect any bluetooth device - for ex. I have a smartphone and a Bluetooth Speaker in the vicinity, bur neither is being detected by the HP. I only get the message that the HP is searching for Bluetooth devices and that the HP is visible to  Bluetooth devices.

I would be very grateful for further suggestions.

Thanks in advance

Hi SDJL,

I had a look at the status of the Bluetooth drivers and see that the installed drivers are for the 32bit system. My HP Spectre

is running the 64 bit version. Could this be a problem?

Details:

Version: 1511

OS build: 10586.218

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6500U CPU, 2.50 GHz 2.59 GHz

Installed RAM 8 GB

Systemtype: 64-BitOperating System, X64-based processor

Thanks again,

Hi @INOV,

Is your laptop still in the 1-year factory warranty from the purchase date? If so, please use the following link http://www.hp.com/contacthp to create a case for your issue, and contact HP. If you live outside the US/Canada, please click the link http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-phone-assist.html to get the contact information for your region.

If the laptop is out of warranty, you can run the Component test in the hardware tests to test the Wireless module, since the Bluetooth adapter is part of the WLAN module.

Let me know how it goes.

Hi @INOV,

I just saw your second message. That could be a problem. Please download the 64-bit version which is sp72632.exe.

Let me know if it works.

Hi SDJL,

I tried the 64bit version, it confirmed that it was installed, but when I checked the installed bluetooth drivers I see that they are the 32bit version! (pls see scr.shot below) Is that correct? The bluetooth devices are simply not being detected.

I also used the Intel driver update utility - the drivers were updated, but that did not help either.

Have you any suggestions?

Regards

Hi @INOV,

Please try running the HP Support Assistant. Check if it can update the driver to the right version.
