I have a brand new HP Spectre x360 Laptop PC running Windows 11. After coming out of sleep mode, my browser won't open. Stuck on the spinning wheel. Even my VPN won't connect. It's like my network is down but it's not, other devices in my home are connected and running fine. My keyboard and mousepad are working, I can also access my saved files. I just can't connect to my wifi network unless I restart the laptop then everything works normally. It doesn't make a difference if the browser was open or closed when the laptop goes into sleep mode. I tried checking online and see others with the same issue but I haven't been able to find a fix for a windows 11 laptop. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Hi@Paul0630,
Welcome to the HP Support Community! I'd like to help!
I see you are experiencing sleep mode issues with the HP Spectre X360 16 Inch 2-In-1 Laptop PC.
I have a few recommendations
- Update your Notebook computer to the latest BIOS from HP.COM.
- Make sure the Windows and HP support assistant updates are up to date.
- Go to System and Security and then click on Power Options. In the left pane, click on Choose what the power buttons do. Next, click the Change settings that are currently unavailable link. Under the Shutdown settings section, check the Turn on fast startup (recommended) option to turn on the feature.
- Try doing Reset PC Keep my files from windows and check if it works.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Hello Dilip_18,
Thanks for reply.
I attempted your suggestions. There was no option to update the BIOS within the BIOS window so I went to HP.com and found several steps and cautions before attempting to update the BIOS so I didn't continue with the update. My laptop is new so I doubt my BIOS is that outdated. I ensured Windows and HP support assistant are up to date. I then tried your third suggestion but my laptop does not have a "System and Security". I went to "System" on my laptop then "Power & Battery" as there was no "Power Options" link. From here, there was no "choose what the power buttons do". I was unable to continue further. I tried looking through available options without luck. I appreciate your help nonetheless.

Hi@Paul0630,
Thank you for responding, I appreciate your time and effort.
Try doing Reset PC Keep my files from windows and check if it works. If issue still persists then the HP Cloud Recovery Tool allows you to download recovery software to a USB drive. You can use the downloaded recovery image file in order to install the Windows operating system.
Click here for the HP Cloud Recovery Tool (Windows 10) link.
Please feel free to contact us here anytime you need any further assistance.
Have a great day!

I was having "known trouble" with my new pavilion laptop for the last several weeks. I just had to go to HP downloads, Driver-Network, and had to download the Mediatek wireless LAN driver (Jan 27, 2022 update) because my Wifi kept dropping out. Not sure if this will fix your problem.
