Hi All,
I just reinstalled Win 10-64bit on my Pavilion Notebook 17-g192dx and consequently it won't show any Wifi Networks. My Device Manager shows 3 devices without drivers:
1) Network Controller - PCI\VEN_10ED&DEV_8179&SUBSYS_804B103C&REV_01
2) Unknown Device - ACPI\VEN_HPQ&DEV_6007
3) Unknown Device - ACPI\VEN_INT&DEV_340F
The Network Contoller is my biggest headache!! I've tried the drivers on this site for my laptop ("sp_____.exe" files) and they Don't Work. I've searched the Web, the Microsoft Update Catalog site, and the Realtek site. The Vendor/Dev ID doesn't even seem to exist, particularly the Ven "10ED" identifier! What I CANNOT try is an automatic Windows Update because I can't connect to Wifi and I don't have access to an Ethernet connection.
Please help, this shouldn't be so difficult!!

Are you are sure the vendor ID is 10ED? It should be 10EC.
According to the network controller hardware ID you posted, you need this driver...Try manually installing the driver if the auto install doesn't work.

Thanks for the quick response and links Paul.
But, unfortunately, just as I expected, the Network Controller device is the unresolved pain! (The other 2 devices recognized the drivers fine - thanks).
I agree with you that the "VEN_10ED" seems like it should be "VEN_EC", judging that it's not coming up in any search. The only thing that seems to come up on Google for it is "Ascii Corporation", which has no such device as "DEV_8179".

You're very welcome.
The only suggestion I can offer would be to see if reinstalling W10 gets the right ID to show up, but I don't believe it will.
You have a Realtek RTL8188EE wifi adapter without a doubt, and the only ID it should begin with is 10EC.
I'm thinking that for some strange reason, the wifi card's firmware has become corrupt, resulting in a non-existent hardware ID.
I've seen that happen with some ethernet adapters some folks posted issues with.
Hardware ID's are like fingerprints.
The driver will only install if the driver setup information file contains the hardware ID for each device supported by the driver.
You will not find a Realtek driver with a setup information file that contains the 10ED hardware ID.
This is what the correct hardware ID should be for your specific wifi card...right out of the driver setup information file...
%HP8188e.DeviceDesc% = HP8188ee.ndi, PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8179&SUBSYS_804B103C
Your only option under that circumstance would be to replace the internal wifi card or purchase an external USB wifi adapter.

Thanks for the suggestions Paul. I've looked for the Realtek Wifi Card for this model and they are not readily vailable, so I have to order it online and wait.
In the meantime I purchased a USB Wifi Adapter but the problem is that I tried to reload Windows 10 again and if failed to completely install/and boot, so I cannot use the Windows-based USB Wifi Adapter yet. The Error Message I'm receiving is pictured below and I am guessing that the "Device" that can't be "accessed" is the internal Wifi Network Card which was showing a wrong Hardware ID in the first place.
My Current Problem Is: HOW DO I GET PASS THE ABOVE ERROR MESSAGE SO THAT WINDOWS CAN BOOT AND WHILE I WAIT TO REPLACE THE WIFI NETWORK CARD?
What I've Already Tried:
1) Ran UEFI Diagnostics SYSTEM TEST. Results: Everything "Passed", except Wireless Module Check - "NOT, INSTALLED"
2) Ran COMPONENT TESTS (Processor, Memory, Hard Drive, Optical Drive, System Board, USB Port,
2) Reinstalling Win 10 from the disks. Results: No Change
3) System Recovery from the HD and a USB -> Troubleshoot -> Advanced Options -> Startup Repair. Results : No Change
4) System Recovery: Advanced Options -> Command Prompt -> bootrec /rebuildcd -> bootrec /fixmbr -> bootrec /fixboot. Results: No Change
6) Prompt -> diskpart -> select partition # (primary) -> active. Results : No Change
7) Command Prompt -> bootsect /nt60 c:. Results: No Change
😎 Upgrading Firmware. Downloaded “sp76532.exe” file for my HGST Hard Drive, but it has to be run in Windows. Tried to extract its files to a USB as explained in https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00042629 in order to use them via the UEFI Firmware Management feature. But the file’s utility program does not allow for extracting files, only for direct install to the current computer. IS THERE ANOTHER FIRMWARE UPDATE FILE FOR MY MODEL & HD THAT CAN BE INSTALLED DIRECTLY VIA UEFI FIRMWARE MANAGEMENT FEATURE?

The system will no longer read from the CD/DVD Drive when booting up. I will read and boot from the "OS boot Manager" (HD). I've already the UEFI Boot Order in the Bios but no change. My hope is that if I can get it to boot from the DVD I can try installing an earlier version of Windows in the meantime. Any Suggestions?

Geez, Louise!
Another thing you can try is to go into the BIOS, enable legacy mode, and disable secure boot and see if you can boot from the DVD that way.
I take it that you made the set of W10 recovery media and tried to boot from that using the DVD?
I'm asking because you can clean install W10 at any time by using the Media Creation tool at the link below, and if you do that, the recovery manager program most likely will not work anymore.
So, if you want to try that...
You can reinstall W10 for free at any time by using the Media Creation tool at the link below.

You will be given the option of making a bootable USB flash drive, or save an ISO file which you can burn to a DVD using your PC's burn ISO option.
The software will work with the W10 product key in your notebook's BIOS.
After W10 has completed installing, go to your notebook's support page to install the drivers and available software you need.

I know, right?...This is a long saga. lol.
Just last week I ordered and received the Win10 Recovery Disk for $60 -smh-. Its from these disk that I have been attempting the reinstall. Is the download any different from the disks?

Thanks much for being so dedicated and generous with your time and knowledge by staying with me through this whole process.
The "vanilla OS" did install without a hitch as you said it would. Now I at least have something to work with to try other options in ultimately resolving this device/firmware issue.

If you have to replace the internal wifi card (which I am 99% sure you will), you may as well get the Realtek card with bluetooth.
