Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Recently dug out my old laptop to use whilst my current one is being repaired

Decided to upgrade to Windows 10

Now for some reason cannot directly connect to Wifi for internet, the only way I can get online is via a mobile hotspot that is sharing my wifi.

I have:

1) Tried troubleshooting Network: unable to resolve

2) Tried re-downloading/installing the drivers for my Wifi Adaptor (both from the HP official website and via the Device manager "update driver"

3) Tried Resetting the Router

4) Tried resetting the laptop into factory mode.

5) Tried to reset SSID

I no longer know what to do, please may I ask for some advice?

The only strange thing I've noticed is that when I look for the drivers on the HP website it only goes up to Windows 8.1?

Could it be that due to upgrading to Windows 10 there isn't a supported driver?

I have also tried to restore to the previous version but it keeps running into an error

Appreciate you trying the steps. Don't worry, I'm here to help!

Possible Reasons - This issue can occur due to various reasons like the settings, upgrade, hardware to name few.

Let’s try these steps -

Step 1 Network Troubleshooter -

1) In the search box, type and open "Troubleshooter".
2) Click on "Network and Internet".
3) Click on "Internet Connections".

Step 2 Run Network commands -

1) In the search box on the taskbar, type Command prompt, press and hold (or right-click) Command prompt, and then select Run as administrator > Yes.
2) At the command prompt, run the following commands in the listed order, and then check to see if that fixes your connection problem:
Type
netsh winsock reset and press Enter.
Type
netsh int ip reset and press Enter.
Type
ipconfig /release and press Enter.
Type
ipconfig /renew and press Enter.
Type
ipconfig /flushdns and press Enter.

Step 3 Re-install the Network Adapter -

1) In the search box on the taskbar, type Device Manager, and then select Device Manager from the list of results.
2) In Device Manager, select Network adapters > the network adapter name.
3) Right-click on the network adapter, and then select Uninstall device > Delete the driver software for this device check box > Uninstall.
4) Restart the computer.

Also, try updating the computer -
