One is DSL and one is Cable. I can connect to the DSL network
The DSL is an Arcadyarr model VRV8019AW22
Cable is a technicolor AFS
In both cases I can connect to the wifi of the router or the wifi of the extender. No gateway inbetween as far as I know
I don't know how to access the router congfigs
I don't know the answer to your last question. If you mean does ipconfig show an address after IPv4 Address, the answer is yes.
My next step is to change the DNS. Will update but am stepping away for a while

Updating the DNS server address to the Google setting worked. I can now access the cable network.
It's not a setting I had changed so no idea whay the DNS setting that was there suddenly didn't work. Thanks for your suggestion
