Pavillion 14-ab051tx N4G24PA
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I recently bought a Pavillion 14-ab-51tx N4G24PA, it's my first HP notebook, it comes with Windows 8.1 already installed, and it worked fine.

Thing is, I kind of get used to using Windows 10 on my previous notebook, so without further hesitation I upgraded it to Windows 10 64 bit.

Here's what I did wrong :

Instead of upgrading from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10, I indeliberately installed it fresh, with couple clicks of mouse, I didn't realize that I also deleting the recovery partition.

I only realized it after the installation process finished, but then it was too late. I  was eager to use my notebook with freshly installed Windows 10 in it to do some gaming just to noticed that i could not connect to any wireless network, home nor public. It recognizes my home wifi, but the signal bar is acting weird, there is only 1 signal bar present even though the wireless router is only about 10 feet from it, so I checked my other computers and smartphones, but the signal bar on them is ridiculously strong ( full bar ), they also detects another wireless network which are farther than my wireless router.

So back to my HP notebook, I tried to connect to my home network despite the signal bar with the right security key entered, but it won't connect, it said "Cannot connect to network".

Tried updating drivers with HP Support Assistant and no luck, the problem persists, tried all the solution on the internet, resetting int ip, resetting winsock, ticking and unticking, still no avail.

Can somebody please help me....

Hi:

The parts list indicates that your notebook comes with a Broadcom wireless card.

Did you try the latest W10 driver for that card from your PC's support and driver page?

This package provides the Broadcom Wireless LAN drivers for supported notebook models running a supported operating system. Broadcom Wireless LAN drivers are required to enable the integrated Broadcom Wireless LAN adapter.

Released: Dec 17, 2015

Version 7.35.317.0 Rev.A

Thank you for your prompt response Paul.

I tried your suggestion and now it's working fine,  my bad for thinking HP Support Assistant provides me with the latest updated driver automatically. Well, brain trumps even the most sophisticated algorithm I guess.

Thanks again Paul, for your assistance..

You're very welcome.

Yes, that HPSA program is not always 100% accurate.

Glad the updated driver resolved the problem for you.
