Hi my pavilion is model dv7-6c00TX, i think circa 2011.
the processor is i7-2760QM and the chipset is hm65.
I have physically opened the back and i can visually see my WLAN adapter is intel centrino wireless n-1030.
At the Drivers Page, under 'Networking', there are 3 applicable drives for me, concerning wifi/bt :-
1. sp54841 (Intel Brand WLAN).
2. sp54901 (Intel Brand BT).
3. sp57090 (Intel Brand WLAN, Intel PROSet, and My WiFi).
Can a HP Official, or anyone, tell me which of these i should install, and in what order pls? Because to me, i read their descriptions, they all seem to overlap. I'm only interested in installing the exact drivers i need. I tested by installing all three 1 & 2 & 3 once and got that error query 'did the above program install correctly?'.
Looking forward to your response.
Regards.

You're very welcome.
Yes, skip sp54841, as sp57090 is the newer wifi driver, and for the bluetooth, install sp54901.
Install sp57090, restart the PC, and then install sp54901.

Hi:
I wouldn't install any of those.
I would install a newer version of the driver...

Hi thx that is probably the better driver.
But if i wanted to keep to the older original oem drivers for this product, which sequence should i install the three? without overlapping each other?
should i skip sp54841 (wlan only)
and install just sp54901 (bt) & sp57090 (wlan/bt/intel proset)?
thanks

Hi Paul, (... regarding the bluetooth)
Installing 57090, i see Control Panel>List of Installed Programs to already include :-
-IntelPROSet Bluetooth
-IntelPROSet Wireless LAN
My question now is : sp54901 concerns only BT Drivers & BSOD Fix with BT headphones. It is dated October 14th, 2011. Would i Still need to install this, because 57090 IntelPROSet drivers & software is newer somewhere April 2012.
I mean, does 'IntelPROSet Bluetooth', in additon to PROSet software, also install BT drivers, and would these drivers superceed those offered by sp54901 (i can't tell the driver version number i only see softpaq version in readme). If so, i won't even install sp54901, just 57090 PROSet pack for all WLAN/BT devices.
What do you think.

Hi:
If sp57090 contains both the wifi and bluetooth drivers, then that is all you need to install.
I was not under the impression that sp57090 contained both.
When I use the free 7-Zip file utility, and extract the sp57090.exe file into its driver folder, I do not see any files pertaining to blueooth, nor does the file description indicate that sp57090 is going to install anything else but the wifi driver.
So all I can say is this...if the BT does not work by installing sp57090 alone, then you also need sp54901.

Paul, i think you are right. I checked again, it would appear that under Device manager BT is still using Microsoft generic adapter & enumerator. sp57090 only introduces the SOFTWARE Intel PROSet/Wireless for Bluetooth ...
Because in a previous installation after installing sp54901 i remembered seeing "Bluetooth 3.0 + High Speed ... " at Device manager's BT Adapter & Enumerator.
So i'll go ahead and install sp54901now, but i hope it won't clash with Intel PROSet already there because optimally i should have installed the BT drivers first before the software (sp57090).

Yes, if you see a generic bluetooth adapter, you need to install the Intel bluetooth driver.
I have always installed the wifi driver first, then the bluetooth driver, and I have never experienced any issues by installing in that order.
