Hi @KGJ8,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're experiencing difficulty connecting your MacBook Pro to your HP Envy 6000 printer via Wi-Fi. Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.

Restart Printer and MacBook:

  • Turn off your HP Envy 6000 printer and your MacBook Pro. Wait for a few minutes, then turn them both back on. Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve connectivity issues.

Ensure Printer is Ready for Connection:

  • Make sure your HP Envy 6000 printer is powered on and ready for connection. Check the printer's display panel for any error messages or prompts that may indicate it's not ready.

Check Wi-Fi Network:

  • Ensure that both your MacBook Pro and the HP Envy 6000 printer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Sometimes, devices may be connected to different networks, which can prevent them from communicating with each other.

Forget and Reconnect Wi-Fi Network:

  • On your MacBook Pro, go to System Preferences > Network. Select Wi-Fi from the list on the left, then click on the Advanced button. Find and select your Wi-Fi network, then click on the minus (-) button to remove it. Confirm and close the windows. Then, reconnect to your Wi-Fi network and try connecting to the printer again.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Check if there are any firmware updates available for your HP Envy 6000 printer. Updating the printer's firmware may resolve compatibility issues and improve connectivity. You can usually check for firmware updates through the printer's settings menu or HP's support website.

Reset Printer Network Settings:

  • On your HP Envy 6000 printer, navigate to the settings menu and look for an option to reset network settings or restore defaults. Performing a network reset may resolve connectivity issues.

Install Printer Drivers:

  • Ensure that you have the latest printer drivers installed on your MacBook Pro. You can download and install the drivers from the HP website or through the Mac App Store.

By following these steps, you should be able to troubleshoot and resolve the issue with connecting your MacBook Pro to your HP Envy 6000 printer via Wi-Fi.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
