Printer is hardwired to my computer thinking that would help but still takes 20 minutes to send to email. Is this it? I don't have time to sit and wait for 2 pages 20 times a day. And yes we have extremely fast internet at our location.

Hi @Cobra2024- ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are facing an issue with your HP OfficeJet Pro 9730e shouldn't be that slow when hardwired, especially with fast internet.
Here are a few steps that might help improve the speed:
- Update Firmware and Drivers: Ensure the printer’s firmware is up-to-date. Outdated firmware can cause slowdowns. Also, download the latest drivers from HP's website.
- Check Connection Speed and Settings: Even though it's hardwired, confirm that the connection settings are optimal (like setting the Ethernet port on the printer and computer to "Full Duplex" mode if possible).
- Printer Queue and Background Processes: Large or stuck print jobs in the queue can cause delays. Clear the printer queue in Windows by opening "Devices and Printers," selecting your printer, and canceling any stuck jobs.
- Printer Settings: Ensure your printer is in Standard or Draft Mode instead of High Quality or Best Quality if you're just sending documents for email, as higher quality settings can slow things down.
- Check Security Software: Sometimes antivirus or firewall settings slow down print jobs when scanned as a security measure. Add the HP software as an exception in your security program.
- Try Sending Without HP Smart App: If you’re using the HP Smart app to email documents, try sending them directly from the printer's email feature or scanning to your computer and emailing from there.

I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
