Envy 360 recently used to connect at 5 and 2.4GHz. Now only 2.4GHz. Much older Yoga and TV both do, so not router or mesh system. Ran usual HP checks and have tried
www.xda-developers.com/how-force-5ghz-wi-fi-windows-11/
and still can't get 5GHz!

You're very welcome.
HP restored the latest driver file.
Below is the link.
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp153001-153500/sp153227.exe
You download, save and double-click to run the file.
Follow the onscreen instructions to install the driver and the installation is automatic.

The only suggestion I can offer would be to see if updating the Realtek Wi-Fi driver to the latest version resolves the problem.
I don't know what happened to the latest Realtek driver HP had on the support pages, but many of the newer versions are not available right now.
Check the current version of the Realtek Wi-Fi driver that is currently installed before proceeding.
It is probably older than the driver I am giving you.
Fortunately, you can download the latest Wi-Fi driver from the Microsoft Update catalog website.
Select the first file on the list.
2024.10.229.0, 5/16/2024
You can't do anything with the file you downloaded as is, because it is a cabinet file, and the file contents have to be extracted to a folder so you can work with it.
You will need to manually update the driver, and the first thing you have to do after you save the driver cabinet file is to download and install this free file utility.
The first file on the list is for 64 bit:
After you install 7-Zip, right click on the driver cabinet file you saved.
Have 7-Zip Extract to: and let it extract the file into that long folder name.
Ignore any messages you see during the extraction process.
After 7-Zip has created the driver folder, go to the device manager.
Click to expand the Network adapters device manager category.
Click on the Realtek RTL8821CE Wi-Fi adapter.
Click on the driver tab.
Click on Update driver.
Select the 'Browse my computer for drivers' option and browse to the driver folder that 7-Zip created.
Make sure that the Include subfolders box is checked, and the driver should install.
Then restart the notebook and you should now see that the driver version is 2024.10.229.0, 5/16/2024.
If that doesn't work, probably the 5.0 GHz radio has suffered a hardware failure.
I recommend you replace and upgrade the Realtek card to the other card that HP offered in the model series:
Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200 ax 2×2 + Bluetooth 5.0 MU-MIMO M.2 2230 non-vPro HP part # L35282-005.
Below is the link to the service manual where you can find the Wi-Fi card removal and replacement procedure:
HP installed the Intel AX200 in my HP ENVY x360 Laptop - 15-ee0047nr notebook, and I have never had any problems with it.

Very belated thanks to Paul_Tikkanen for the detailed response. I haven't had time to try it yet, and am nervous because it's outside of my IT comfort zone!
What really surprised me was the lack of knowledge, and support, from the HP technical team. Laptop just out of guarantee - caveat emptor?

Many thanks Paul. It worked like a treat!
I now have 5GHz; Channel 44; 325/325 (Mbps) instead of 2.4GHz and as low as 77/77 (Mbps)
After a couple of failed downloads I ran the program and everything happened automatically and before I even realised it!
