- HP EliteBook 865 16 inch G9 Notebook PC 7NIZ4PA, Windows 11 Education 23H2
- Leasing this laptop through TELA.CO.NZ on the ministry and school laptop lease scheme last year.
- Motherboard was replaced once in the first 3 months due to faulty USB-C charging connection.
- It has had numerous screen flickering problems afterwards, with parts of the page contents on OneNote and Excel alike disappear until I scroll. Update all drivers and even added Excel and OneNote to run on high performance mode on AMD app. Flickering continued. Running Creative Suite and SketchUp Pro without any flickering issues.
- School IT technician has rebuilt this multiple times, didn't fix the flickering issue.
- After the second last rebuild with Windows 11, it suddenly stopped connecting to the school's WIFI. He rebuilt it to Windows 10.
- Knowing Microsoft is ending it's support to Windows 10 Oct 25 before this lease expires. Updated the laptop from to Windows 11 this week, not connecting to the school WIFI after the update.
- Updated all drivers through Windows Update and Intel Driver and Support Assistant.
- Did all the suggested steps in Virtual Assistant, did not solve the WIFI connection issue.

Hello AKPNBHS2024, I leave you the thread that I posted explaining what needs to be done to solve this WI-FI failure, I cannot guarantee that it will work but try to do it. If you see that the problem is not solved, do a clean installation again, deleting all the files, copy the important files that you have and do not want to lose.
Greetings.

Good morning AKPNBHS2024, you are welcome to help, go to Device Manager and uninstall the WI-FI driver, then restart the laptop, when it has restarted install this driver that I let you download. I also leave you to update the Bios and Chipset. I hope it solves your problem.
I leave you two links to tools to search for outdated drivers and perform system checks.

Hi Jos1_
Thank you for all the links.
- Previously uninstalled WIFI driver and installed sp152009.exe, did it again. Didn't solve the issue.
- Updated all the driver you listed. Didn't solve the issue.
- Ran Wireless Networking Component Tests with HP PC Hardware Diagnostics, it does not even detect the network I try to connect (which is mentioned below), but other WIFI networks are present. Passed all Extensive System Tests.
- HP Support Assistant Operating System Diagnostics no issues found
- HP Image Assistant no missing or out-of-date drivers and software
- HP Network Check | Network Diagnostics, possible root causes:
- A wireless connection attempt is still in progress (999)
- Wireless connection attempt to "PNBHS-StaffDevices" is taking longer than normal to complete
- This might be because the wireless (802.1X) authentication server is not available, or there may be a problem with the user account. (999)
- Windows could not connect to "PNBHS-StaffDevices: You can try to connect again. (999)
Thanks.

Hello AKPNBHS2024, it's a pleasure to help you at all. You are going to uninstall the WI-FI driver and then restart the laptop, when it restarts, install this driver that I leave you to download if you connect the WI-FI, Windows 11 is giving many errors with the wireless connection, I hope it solves it for you The problem is not the fault of your laptop, it is Microsoft's fault due to a bug in the program.
