Hi @James196319,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding HP Envy 6400 Printer WiFi Connection Issues!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Restart Devices:

  • Turn off your printer, computer, and router. After waiting for about 60 seconds, turn them back on and try reconnecting.

Check WiFi Network:

  • Ensure your WiFi network is active and working by testing another device.

Printer Network Settings Reset:

  • Reset the network settings on your printer:
    • Press the wireless button, and then press the cancel button.
    • Hold these buttons down until the light starts blinking.
    • This will reset the network settings on the printer.

WiFi Configuration:

  • Use HP Smart or the printer control panel to reconnect to WiFi:
    • Open HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device.
    • Follow the on-screen instructions to add a new printer and connect it to WiFi.

Check Router Settings:

  • Make sure the printer is not blocked by MAC filtering settings on your router.
  • Ensure SSID broadcast is enabled.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Check if there’s a firmware update for your printer:
    • Visit HP Customer Support for software updates for your printer model.

WiFi Direct Connection:

  • If standard WiFi does not work, you might try connecting via WiFi Direct:
    • Press and hold the WiFi Direct button on your printer, and use your device’s WiFi settings to connect directly.

Distance from Router:

  • Ensure the printer is within range of the router and there are no large physical obstructions.

I hope this helps.
