I had to restore my computer as it crashed, Now I can not get my printer to work, it worked before, I need my printer now an windows can not install it . Only 4300 serius or 4600 serius , which is not my printer, I need to have someone help me install this . I do not have my CD as it is in Florida in storage, but my printer is wiht me in Wyoming.

Hi I also have an HP officejet 4500 g510a and it has been set up on my computer before i havent used it in two years but i am trying to print and the compter says its connected i think, but the printer says its not. it wont print from the computer but does print from itself if that makes sense. any syggestions? could it just be the cord?

Restore network defaults on the printer if you mean  you have it set up wirelessly.  If you are using USB, try another cord first.

I have installed/reinstalled 8 times and still get an error message 4,(2,7,80040007),(3,7,0)) this is really frustrating because it worked fine till last week when I had to reinstall the operating system again to solve other problems.

If it worked before you installed the OS and then it stopped, you may have to uninstall the printer, reinstall the OS, then try installing the printer software again because it sounds to me like the OS installation still left behind registry files.  You can always try running CCleaner, reboot, Disk cleanup, reboot, install software again. Sometimes that works.

The printer/fax/scanner does not work when it is plugged in after all the installing.reinstalling of the drivers and twice the OS 8.1 What now???

What is the error message you are getting?  I get that it is not installing, but you must be receiving some kind of message.  Please explain in a little more detail what is not working.

There are many models of Officejet 4500s, which one do you have?  Are you using a disk to install or are you downloading it from the internet?

Yes I am using it outside of the U.S. and it is a officejet 4500 g with USB connection. The error I get on the machine is failure to scan or print and when I predd OK it is supposed to print but besides showing" starting print" nothing happens.

I have disconnected from electricity for hours but keep getting the error massage and of course the machine does not connect to the PC.
