Thank you for your reply.  Are you waiting to plug in the USB until the installation says to?  Try this software and let me know if it helps you:

I had to do this yesterday during a failed USB installation  - if you are on a Windows computer, click start button and right click Computer or My Computer and select Manage Device. Then go to the Device Manager and check under USB devices to see if it is there.  Then you can update the driver that way as well.

I just got a HP officejet 4500 with the ethernet wire connection i am also through with the installation but it is saying "Your PC is not currently connected to a network. Connect your PC to your network." please is this supposed to be an internet connection?

Have you tried another Ethernet cord?  It sounds like a bad connection or bad cord.

The 4500 all in one printer won't contact via y fi to my Vista comptuer

we use a wireless mouse

No other wireless devices
