Microsoft Windows 11

I've got a HP ProBook 455 G7 that I've had for a number of years, and the Realtek Bluetooth adapter has never worked for more than one reboot.  This problem has existed since the laptop was originally purchased.

After I reboot, it fails and Device Manager shows the error message "Windows cannot start this hardware because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damage (code 19)".

Is there anyway to get this resolved?  I've tried all kinds of things (cleaning up the registry information for the Device Driver Class ID, using polices to prevent updating the of the driver, etc.) and nothing seems to work.

Alternatively, would it be possible to replace the realtek Wifi/Bluetooth M.2 card with a different one that might actually work.

Thanks for the super quick response Paul!

I think I've managed to get it working properly by removing the WIDCOMM bluetooth software. I now wonder if I actually needed a new card at all.  However, I'm not going to bother trying to reinstall the original card, as I have a working configuration, which is what I wanted all along.

See if installing the latest Realtek Bluetooth driver resolves the problem:

OPERATING SYSTEM(S):

Microsoft Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC 24H2 (64-bit)
Microsoft Windows 11 version 21H2 (64-bit)
Microsoft Windows 11 version 22H2 (64-bit)
Microsoft Windows 11 version 23H2 (64-bit)
Microsoft Windows 11 version 24H2 (64-bit)
Microsoft Windows 11 version 25H2 (64-bit)

Provides the following drivers:

8852AE/8852BE/8852CE/8851BE, version 18.4017.2412.2303

8821CE/8822BE/8822CE/8723DE, version 1.10.1072.3000

8852BE-VT, version 18.4019.2412.2303

sp157134.exe

If that doesn't work, you should be able to install this model wifi adapter:

Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200 802.11ax 2 × 2 + Bluetooth 5.0 (non-vPro)   HP part # L35282-002

Alternative part number:

HP part # L35282-005.

Thank you Paul.

I've tried installing those drivers, and unfortunately, it didn't seem to help at all.

For the Intel WiFi adapter, will it require installing an additional antenna, or should there already be two antennas already?

Also, please note that I'm my laptop has an AMD Ryzen 5 4500U processor.  Are both replacement wifi cards (L35282-002 and L35282-005) compatible with AMD CPUs?

Thanks in advance.

You're very welcome.

Your notebook has the Realtek RTL8822CE Wi-Fi adapter, correct?

If so, your notebook has two antenna wires connected to the Realtek RTL8822CE Wi-Fi adapter.

Yes, the Intel AX200 non-vPro card should work in a notebook with an AMD processor and chipset.

Chapter 3 of the service manual lists the Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200 802.11ax card as a supported card.

HP installed the AX200 part number L35282-005 in my HP 15-ee0047nr notebook which has the same processor as yours.

Paul,

Thank you again for responding!

Device Manager shows the I have a Realtek RTL8822CE 802.11AC PCIe adapter, so I think I should have two antennas in my laptop.

I'll hunt down one of those adapters.

You're very welcome.

You can probably find one for sale on Amazon or eBay.

I've ordered one from ebay, and it should be here in a week or two.  I'll report back with a link to specific one I ordered.  It has the SPS part number L35282-005 on it, so I hope that means it will work.

Well, the new Intel Wifi/Bluetooth card showed up today.  I got it installed, the drivers installed fine, and Bluetooth worked fine.

I rebooted, and now I get the same error I did with the Realtek card installed 😞

Reinstalling the latest Intel drivers fixes the problem until I reboot again 😞

Any other suggestions on what could be going on?

I did some more searching, and I found that some people had the same issues and they fixed it by removing WIDCOMM Bluetooth.  I did that, and now things seem to be working properly, including after several reboots.

I'm not putting the old network card back in, but I do wonder if WIDCOMM was the issue all along.

Unfortunately, I don't.

Before you installed the Intel card, did you uninstall both the Realtek wifi and Bluetooth adapters in the device manager?

If not, go to the device manager, click on the View tab, and select the Show hidden device option.

Then click to expand the Bluetooth device manager category and the Realtek Bluetooth adapter should show up in light shade.

Right click on that device, select Uninstall, and check the uninstall driver box.

Then click to expand the Network adapters device manager category and do the same thing to the Realtek wifi adapter.
