I have a connectivity issue with the laptop for this one particular wifi router. The laptop seem to show no problem connecting to my mobile hotspot wifi. However when I try to connect my wifi to this router(Our home wifi router), it says its secured but no wifi. Every minute or so it disconnects and shows a globe sign on the bottom right where the wifi sign should be shown. It connects and disconnects repeats over and over - sometimes it stays as disconnected no wifi for awhile. Also, when it says its "connected" the wifi barely works or at least its super slow to the point where you can't do anything (It disconnects in less than 1 minute also).

It's definitely not the wifi router issue as my HP Pavilion laptop is connected and been working perfectly (Not sure if its related but I'm in Korea at the moment -  maybe I need to change some setting for that?)

My University lectures are starting in a week so it will greatly be appreciated if someone could find a solution in the near time. Thank you for your time.

@ProblemSolver55 Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that you are unable to connect wifi.

HP will not recommend connecting the mobile hotspot.

In that case, I would suggets you perform the wireless module test and check.

1. Power off the PC and make sure that it is completely powered off.

2. Press the power button and the moment you press the power button immediately start tapping F2 key, you should see the system diagnostics screen.

3. Look for the component test, under that all the hardware will be listed, please choose Wireless module and initiate the quick test.

Note: If it fails it will generate a 24 digits alphanumeric failure id, please capture that.

I have a few steps to resolve the issue:

  • Since you've already reinstalled drivers, I would recommend using an Ethernet cable (Wired) and update your Wi-Fi drivers using this link

  • Update the bios by visiting this link or through support assistant using an Ethernet cable.

  • Now try to connect to the internet wireless.

The best way to resolve the issue is by using the HP Guided Troubleshooter:

Click here to access it (simply select your description of the issue from the bottom of the screen to gain access to the next set of steps that should resolve your concern).
