HP Spectre x360 onboard wireless module defective after less than one year of ownership

My fiancé has a 2020 model of the HP x360 Spectre, the wireless module attached to the motherboard went out last week.  While we purchased it less than a year ago, the warranty was still expired because it had sat in the big box store we purchased it from for longer than we thought.   researching this issues brought me to posts like this one below, stating motherboard issues in general with the x360.  Is it possible to receive a warranty repair for a widespread issue like this?
