I have had issues with this laptop connecting to my wi fi network ever since I have owned it. I have 8 other devices on my wi-fi with no issues. At first I had to reset my router for it to connect but after reading some other forums I can get it to connect by turning on Airplane Mode for 20 seconds and then re-enabling Wi-Fi. This laptop came with Win 8.1 and I upgraded it to Win 10 last week and still have this issue.
When I click on my network it says "Can't Connect to Network". But as stated above once I click on Airplane Mode and wait and turn Wi-Fi back on it works for a little bit. I modified my power options so the Wi-Fi is never turned off as well and it still loses the ability to connect. I updated the Drivers as well.
Ideas?

I am still getting this **bleep** error and nothing I have looked for and found has worked. I can get connected sometimes by going into Airplane Mode, by Restarting the computer, unchecking the connecdt automatically box.. But nothing consistent.
I am using an ATT DSL Router and this is the only network that I am having trouble connecdting to with this machine. All of my other devices connect no problem.
This is my kids homework computer but in reality it is becomming a big piece of crap/dead weight.

Hello @betsig250,
Welcome back to the HP Support Forums!
There should be updated network drivers available, that will work with Windows 10. Have you tried using the Windows Update, or the HP Support Assistant to check? If you are having trouble installing the drivers, you can use the tool at the following site:
Open the Windows Update troubleshooter
If you are still having trouble, then try uninstalling the network driver, and allowing the system to search for a compatible driver. You can review the following link to assist you, if needed:
How to: Install and Update drivers in Windows 10
You can also find all Windows 10 drivers for your product at this site:
Drivers - HP Stream Notebook - 13-c010nr (ENERGY STAR)

I know the original question was posted in 2014 but I was having problems with my wife's HP Stream 14 so I figured there must be others with the same issue still. I believe I finally found the solution for mine. I had tried EVERYTHING including the windows 10 reinstall, HP Support call (useless), resetting winsock, etc, etc.
Some of these fixes worked for a little while or sporadically. Usually once I got something to work, after the laptop went to sleep, when it came back it would lose the connection. Anyway, the fix for me was to change the router settings from 11b, 11g, 11n to just 11b & 11g. For some reason, having 11n in there wreaked havoc. On my router, the instructions for changing the settings for the router are on the router itself, so it was pretty easy. Just went to Wireless settings and selected 11b & 11g.
I hope this helps someone out there. I wasted so much time on this and was on the verge of just throwing this new laptop away.

At this point I really just wanna give this one up and get a different one sent in. I got a computer for work purposes only and what's the point of having one if I can't use it for work?
