I just received my HP ENVY MOVE , it was open box special so I’m wondering if this is why it was returned but I’m trying to do my first set up and when I reach the connect to a network page , no networks are showing up . It’s not my router as I have other devices connected and living in an apt complex , there is many networks around and not one of those are popping up either . I am stuck on a screen asking me to connect with nothing to get me out of it. I went to the link provided on this screen for troubleshooting and no resolutions work .

Hi @Tayyadiggg,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds frustrating to be stuck on the network setup screen with no available networks showing up. Here are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue with your HP ENVY MOVE:

1. Check the Wi-Fi Switch or Button

  • Some laptops have a physical switch or function key (like F2 or F12) to enable or disable Wi-Fi. Make sure Wi-Fi is turned on. Look for a key with a Wi-Fi icon and press it or check your laptop's manual for details.

2. Restart Your HP ENVY MOVE

  • Sometimes a simple restart can resolve connectivity issues. Turn off the laptop, wait for a minute, and then turn it back on.

3. Ensure Airplane Mode is Off

  • Check if Airplane mode is turned on. You can usually find this setting in the Action Center (bottom-right corner of the screen) or in the Settings > Network & Internet > Airplane mode.

4. Try a Different Network

  • If possible, try connecting to a different Wi-Fi network, such as a mobile hotspot, to see if the issue is specific to your network.

5. Perform a Network Reset

  • Access the BIOS/UEFI Settings:
    • Turn off your HP ENVY MOVE. Turn it back on and press Esc or F10 repeatedly until you enter the BIOS/UEFI settings.
    • Check if there are any settings related to network or wireless functionality that might be disabled.

6. Check Wireless Drivers

  • Although this might be difficult if you are unable to connect to any network, you can check if the wireless drivers are properly installed by connecting the laptop to the internet via another method (like Ethernet) and then checking for driver updates.

7. Connect Using Ethernet

  • If you have access to an Ethernet cable and port, try connecting directly to your router. This can help bypass wireless issues during setup.

Update BIOS/UEFI

  • If you can access the BIOS/UEFI settings, check if there is an option to update the BIOS/UEFI. This can sometimes fix hardware-related issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
