Hello,
Older system, HP Pavilion g6 notebook.
Realtek RTL8188CE 802.11bgn WiFi Adapter
Recently moved and trying to use wifi but does not see my own network.
I am able to hardwire connect, so wifi works.
I am able to see all my neighbors wifi, so adapter and driver likely works.
I am able to use mobile hotspot.
I did all the HP assistant things.
I uninstalled the driver and restarted.
I powered off, completely disconnected and reset my xfinity new router.
I had issues with my last house and could only see one of the two channels on that router, but still worked fine.
Any suggestions on how I can connect to my own wifi?

Machine supports 2.4GHz networks only. Please allow your router to broadcast dual bands (2.4GHz and 5.0GHz) your machine should see 2.4GHz network and allow you to connect,
Regards.

That definitely seems like it may have been the issue. Just spent 2 hours with xfinity trying to adjust settings, as the router automatically merges the bandwidths. We even had it overridden on their end to 2.4 only but still did not recognize my wifi. That does identify why I had issues, so although not fixed, still will credit with this info as a solution. Thank you!!
