Hello:
I am trying to upgrade my laptop so that it can support both dual band 2.5 & 5Ghz. Also this laptop does not have Bluetooth so wondering if you can suggest a WLAN card that can fix both of these issues.
Currently I have a usb wifi adapter that supports dual band but its a temporary fix and does not always works.
Based on some previous post it looks like the WLAN model number for this laptop is 857334-855.
Please let me know if anybody knows a compatible WLAN card that can fix these short comes.
Thanks!

Hi, @kohlikn
Your notebook only has one wifi antenna, so there is only one wifi card you can upgrade to where both the wifi and bluetooth works with a single antenna, and that is this one...
Realtek RTL8821CE 802.11 ac 1x1 WiFi + Bluetooth 4.2 Combo Adapter (MU-MIMO supported) HP part # L17365-005.
You can find this model on eBay, or the HP parts store.

https://parts.hp.com/hpparts/default.aspx
The card has the same throughput as the RTL8188EE card on the 2.4 GHz wifi band, but on the 5.0 GHz wifi band with an AC router, it has a maximum throughput of 433 MBPS.
Below is the link to the service manual, where you can find the wifi card removal and replacement procedure...

The intel cards posted above...need two antenna cables for both the wifi and bluetooth to work.

The series also supports
- Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3168 802.11 ac 1x1 WiFi + BT 4.2 Combo part # 863934-855
- Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3165 802.11 ac 1x1 WiFi + BT 4.2 Combo part # 806723-005
Regards.
