Hi:

The model series has a whitelist that blocks any model Wi-Fi card not listed in the service manual from working.

If your notebook only has two Wi-Fi antenna wires, a 300 MBPS dual band N card would be the best you can do.

There is a card that supports up to 450 MBPS if your notebook has 3 antenna wires.

This is the model that has the up to 450 MBPS max transfer speeds:

Intel Centrino Ultimate-N 6300, 802.11a/b/g/n WLAN module   HP part # 572511-001

Intel® Centrino® Ultimate-N 6300, Dual Band

The Atheros card may too, but I can't find any specs on it or any for sale.

Below is the link to the service manual which has the list of supported Wi-Fi cards and HP part numbers.

Any card you buy must have the HP part number on it or it will not work.

Can i have that whitelist please?

I have centrino N 6205 in notebook now.

450 mbps is low is there any higher for my hp 8760w?

HP Recommended

I already informed you what the whitelist is.

It's limited to only the 3 cards listed in chapter 3 of the service manual.

Any card you install other than those 3 is guaranteed not to work as you found out when you installed the Intel 7260.

Your only option for faster wifi speeds would be to use a USB wifi AC or wifi 6  adapter.

Ok than ony chanse is that with 450mbps, since its only posibile maximum wide.

So list is ● Intel® Centrino™ Advanced-N 6205, 802.11a/b/g/n WLAN module
● Intel Centrino Ultimate-N 6300, 802.11a/b/g/n WLAN module
● Atheros HB112AGN 802.11a/b/g/n 3x3 WiFi Adapter

Thank you

You're very welcome.

Only the Intel 6300 has that feature, but your PC needs 3 antenna wires present tbecause it has 3 connectors on the card.

If you only connect two antenna wires to the card,it is doubtful the card will work properly.

Yes i have 3 antennas connectors 🙂  with 6205 use two i have one unused.

That's good news.

So if you can find a card with that part number on the 'Replace with HP spare label on eBay, that card should work.

This is an example of what you need to look for...the white 'Replace with HP Spare' sticker...

HP 572511-001 WIFI BOARD | eBay

I would not buy any card without that HP sticker.
