Hi @darryldayton

The network does do not show up on the printer screen, I can help you with that.

To prepare your printer for a wireless connection, restart the printer, computer, and router.

  1. Turn the printer off, and then wait 10 seconds.
  2. Disconnect the printer power cord from the printer.
  3. Turn off the computer or the device you are trying to print from.
  4. Connect the printer power cord to the printer, and then turn on the printer.
  5. Disconnect the power cord from your wireless router, and then wait 10 seconds.
  6. Reconnect the power cord to the router. Wait until Internet service is restored. Internet service is interrupted while the router is off.
  7. Turn on the computer.

Run wireless setup wizard on the printer -

  1. On the printer, select Restore Network Settings (or similar) from the Wireless , Settings , or Restore Settings menu.

  2. Get the network name (SSID) and password. Go to Finding Your Wireless Password for more information.

  3. Select Wireless Setup Wizard from the Wireless, Settings, or Network Setup menu, and then select your network name and enter the password.

Hope this helps!

Let me know how this goes!

Thanks Jay but my printer is not the problem. My problem is that I can not get wireless access on my laptops. I recently switched from Suddenlink to Centurlink and when I look for available networks I get some Centurylink options but never one with the number 7833 behind it (which is listed on the modem) that will allow me to use the password on the modem. I get the correct number on another computer in the house, my IPad and phone but never on this HP computer. Centurylink tells me it is a computer problem and that is what brought me here.

Jay_G24, thanks for detailed information. I had to configure one of the modems I've got recently after reading this comparison article ( here: https://www.tenwitch.com/best-centurylink-modem/ ). They all are compatible with CenturyLink, but you still have to adjust and make small configurations for a specific modem.
