Hi, Please help! I am currently working on upgrading my Dads laptop. this is an old G60-213em. He didnt want a new machine (which I suggested), but asked if I could do anything to make it quicker and if anything that could be done to upgrade it. Over the last couple of days I have upgraded the processor, ram and fitted a 2.5 inch ssd. This has made quite a difference and it performs much better. However I have noticed a couple of issues, which i cannot seem to resolve or find any answers to on this forum or google. 1st is the wifi. It has an aged, slow adapter which i will probably look at replacing too, ive seen the specs of compatible adapters (everything else i seem to have brings up white list error 104), but everytime the machine restarts, it turns the wifi off and you have to press the wifi button (orange) until it lights blue and activates the wifi. This is EVERY time. if you restart after updates or just boot it up, you have to press the wifi to turn it on once booted. Just before it shuts down, you see it turn from blue to orange again. Surely this should come on automatically when it boots up. Is there a driver/software which isnt installed on the machine which could be resulting in this? The only other thing to note is there is no CMOS battery at the moment as ive had to replace this, however i wouldnt have thought this would cause an issue with wifi. I have tried everything from reinstalling the adapter/drivers in device manager. To checking that the power management options are not ticked. Also secondly, i have noticed the display on this is a sandy colour against a bright or white background (any white page, or background has a faint pinkish sandy colour). The screen also seems a little dull and doesnt seem as bright as i'd expect it to be. Is this likely to be the 30 pin connector, the backlight failing or is this common with this type of led screen (dont have much experience with LED screens). Many Thanks
