HP ENVY TouchSmart 15-q100 Notebook PC series
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

So i have a HP ENVY TouchSmart 15 Notebook. Recently I got my new BOSE bluetooth speakers. I have never tried to connect my laptop with any bluetooth device before. But when I tried to connect it with the BOSE speakers, I found out that I don't have a bluetooth driver. Neither in my Device Manager nor in PC Settings.

Can anyone resolve this issue of mine because it really is ticking me off.

Your machine is a CTO machine therefore no available specs on internet. Please check Device Manager, network adapter to see what is the wireless card ? One card on the following list does not have Blurtooth.

● Support for the Qualcomm Atheros AR9565 802.11b/g/n 1×1 WiFi + Bluetooth™ 4.0 Combo Adapter
● Qualcomm QCA9565 802.11bgn 1x1 Wi-Fi + BT4.0 Combo Adapter
● Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160 802.11ac 1×1 WiFi + BT 4.0 Combo Adapter
● Realtek RTL8188EE 802.11bgn Wi-Fi Adapter
● Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 802.11 ac 2×2 WiFi + BT 4.0 Combo Adapter
● Broadcom BCM43142 802.11 bgn 1x1 Wi-Fi + BT4.0 HMC Combo Adapter
● Ralink RT3290LE 802.11b/g/n 1×1 WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0 Combo Adapter

Should be able to find the driver here:

https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-envy-touchsmart-15-q100-notebook-pc-series/72582...

Make sure to update your bios as well and have your wi-fi enabled.

@Banhien

Thanks for the quick reply.  So I checked the network adapter and I found that I have Realtek RTL8188EE 802.11bgn Wi-Fi Adapter which was on your list of wireless cards which do not have bluetooth. So in order to get bluetooth, should i change or download a new adapter? Will this resolve the problem?

Hi,

Sorry, that is a hardware stuff, software and drivers won't fix this. You now have 2 options

(a) Replace existing card with the one on the list

(b) Buy a USB Bluetooth dongle such as

There are many brands and models around, cheaper too.
