HP Notebook - 14-dk0002dx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi!

Over the course of probably 5 years (the problem started 1 year ago), since I had this very old laptop, and to pretty much summarize it, I have bought just a single Wi-Fi adapter, for the reason that my internet is very spiky, or in other words would momentarily stop very frequently, it has NOT been an issue to any other devices then This laptop, I have very much went all out on troubleshooting this but with no luck, And for this reason i just want to know if there is anything I haven't tried that could fix it?, I have managed to fix it ONCE, but then it came back to the usual spikes (after restart), it really affects my gaming needs especially when the game is not Wi-Fi demanding nor Resources consuming.

  • An available BIOS update resolves a specific issue or improves computer performance.
  • The current BIOS does not support a hardware component or a Windows upgrade.
  • HP Support recommends installing a specific BIOS update.

Hello @Saulgoodman

Now we go into phase 3

Change the wifi channel on your router for 2.4Ghz !

You have to try changing the wifi channel several times and do speed tests. In the present case there are too many other wifi access points using the same channel and therefore there are limitations.

There is a good youtube video that explains how to find out what the best channel is using a third party smartphone app !

Very useful and simple:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ufMNDMlHpC0&ab_channel=LironSegev

Please try and get back to here to report your results.
