Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I had windows 10 on the machine for awhile but it was sloooooow . So, I reinstalled windows 7 professional. It runs great and is much faster. However, I  do not have wifi. I can't even turn it on via the keyboard. The light just stays orange and there is absolutely nothing in windows to do with wifi. nothing in device manager or anywhere else.

I have a realtek PCIe GbE net card (isn't that also my wifi card?)

Help! I tried everything I can think of with no result.

Hi:

The  PCIe GbE is the wired network adapter.

Look in the device manager.

Is there a device listed there under an Other Devices category labeled as a Network Controller?

If so, that is the wifi adapter in need of the driver.

If you see the Network Controller device, please post the hardware ID for it so I can figure out what driver it needs.

Use this guide for how to find the hardware ID for a device...

If you do not see such a device, install this software, restart the PC, and see if you can turn on the wifi adapter by using this software...

This package provides the HP Connection Manager for the supported notebook models and operating systems.
