HP Pavilion 16 inch Laptop PC 16-ag0000 (955U3AV)

Hi all - having loads of issues maintaining a steady Wi-Fi connection. On browsing it seems to just drop from nowhere, and a DNS error appears. On refreshing I see a message about the proxy server. When troubleshooting it always finds that I am online and to try again which I do, and it tends to work for another few minutes and then goes again. Have tried all the online fixes that I can find (update driver, disable 2.4ghz, reset network setting etc.) but nothing seems to have worked. A popular view is that disabling network adaptor power management is a good fix however I don't have that option in device management. Please help, any advice welcome! Otherwise think laptop will need to be returned as its almost unworkable.

To note, laptop appears to have assigned itself a temporary wlan profile (no idea what this is) and that appears to have a much more stable connection...unsure why!?
