Can anybody please help me?I have bought a 2nd hand laptop online a hp pavilion entertainment dv3650ed notebook and

I've been trying to sort my wifi out for hours and hours unsuccessful!I had an idea maybe the wireless network card was fried and needs replacing. So I opened the panel and it looked like there was never a card been put in this laptop as there was paper wrapped around the black and white wires that connect to the wifi network card.So after hours of wasting my time I now know its impossible.

Does anyone know which type of network wifi card I need and where I can order from?

I can't find anything on google not for sure because it would have been easier if there was a card in with a model number but unfortuantly there isn't so it makes it that little bit trickier

Hi:

According to the parts list for your notebook at the link below...enter the product number FW737EA, you need to puchase an Intel 802.11a/b/g/n WLAN mini card - For use in Most of World (MOW)   HP part # 469354-001.

http://partsurfer.hp.com/search.aspx

You must purchase this model card, and it must have the HP part number on it or it will not work.

The BIOS will reject any unsupported wireless cards and the PC will not boot up until the unsupported wlan card is removed.

The easiest way to get a wlan card for your notebook, would be to query by the part number on eBay and purchase a used but tested and working wireless network adapter.

I would only trust a listing where you can actually see the HP part number on the 'Replace with HP Spare' sticker on the wireless card.

For example:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/HP-EliteBook-8530p-8530-WiFi-Wireless-Card-Board-469354-001-M-/192122984338?...

thank you I am gonna check it out further before ordering first I am going to bring this usb externe wifi adapter back to the shop get that money back.

It works but it only finds 5ghtz routers and I think my router is a 2.4ghtz and therefore its not picking the signal up.

Thanks alot for your help!

You're very welcome, Lee.

The card that belongs in your PC is a dual band wireless card, so it will work with a router that only works on the 2.4 GHz band.
