Hp Laptop Envy x360 2 in 1 laptop 15 -ew0xxx
Total lemon from day 1. Continually loses all wifi accessibility. Will use the laptop one day no drama, then the following day will be no wifi icon, or wifi adaptor in the network adaptor. They literally just disappear.
I turn off and back on. Airplane mode is greyed out. I don't know what else to do. I took it back to JB Hifi and the young lad said he'd never seen anything like it, and was surprised because it was allegedly a good quality laptop. Literally becomes un-usable for me and im so frustrated with its unreliability ill bever buy another HP at this point. And all I do on it is one work platform, plus emails plus occasional youtube. I dont mistreat the thing. But its like a temperamental toddler. It sits unused for weeks then it'll just randomly come back and work again (ie wifi icon just re-appears). What is going on with it?!?! Please help I'm so frustrated at wasting so many hours on this thing not working.

I'm not sure because it's not currently there. Where would I find that info? Looked online. Think it's mediatek wireless lan driver although the drop down foe the operating system version selections only gave me windows 11 version 22H2 and mine is 23H2 which wasn't an option in the drop down. So ... not sure

If your notebook has one of the Mediatek Wi-Fi adapters (the model is listed in the device manager under the Network Adapters category), here is the link to the latest W11 23H2 Wi-Fi driver HP has for those adapters:
MediaTek Wireless LAN Driver
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp151501-152000/sp151731.exe
- Includes the following drivers:
MT7921 Driver, version 3.0.1.1317
MT7922 Driver, version 3.3.0.923
MT7902 Driver, version 3.3.0.923
MT7925 Driver, version 5.3.0.1463

Thanks Paul. I downloaded this executable file you provided, onto another computer then saved to a USB then downloaded it to my non working laptop. I then went to the file and double clicked on install. A dialogue box popped up momentarily and then in the blinknof an eye was gone. So i don't think I'm doing the install correctly. What do I do to ensure this executable file is installed properly? Because nothing has changed, there is still no wifi icon or adaptor even after a re start.

OK that's good. So the million dollar question is how do I get the mediatek wifi adaptor to reappear in the device manager? Because therein lies the problem. Some days its there, some days its not. Totally random as far as I can tell. It has done this since the day i bought it.
I even took it back to the store early on but by the time I got there it had reappeared and seeing as it was a two hour round trip for me to return to the store it wasn't worth it every time it decided to just disappear.

Unfortunately, that I do not know.
If your notebook is still under warranty, I recommend that you contact HP customer service starting at the link below and submit a support case under the warranty.
