Hi,

I have my laptop linked up to 2 4k displays.  It works when I have the usbc cable and a separate HDMI cable to each monitor.  However I want to run this through a docking station for cabling ease, plus I notice some differences in colours between the existing set up, and have bought a thunderbolt 3 docking station and display port cables.

However on plugging in the wavlink thunderbolt docking station, I get a message that there is limited connectivity.  I cannot find anything to really help me resolve this issue.  Can someone advise me as to what is going wrong and what I need to do to resolve the issue.  I believe I have a thunderbolt 3 port as there is the lightening sign next to it.

Thank you,

J

It does not have Thunderbolt port to work with therefore definitely the wavlink thunderbolt docking station is not compatible with your machine.

For 2 monitors, the HP USB-C Gen 5 dock should work, the only thing won't 100% works is charging your machine when it is working. Your machine would get charge when sitting idle or doing less work.

Interesting.  Like I said there is a thunderbolt sign next to the usbc port, but I did have my suspicions.

Will this output to 4k for both my 32 inch monitors? And at what refresh rate?

I guess as its not thunderbolt then the bandwidth is lower?
