@Ailee78, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your HP 6000 printer lost its network connection while it was powered off. This usually happens if the router assigned it a dynamic IP address that has since changed. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you reconnect it:

Restart Everything

  • Turn off your printer, router, and laptop.
  • Wait 30 seconds.
  • Turn on the router first, then the printer, and finally your laptop.

Reconnect the Printer to Wi-Fi

  • On the printer’s control panel, go to Network Settings or Wireless Setup Wizard.
  • Select your Wi-Fi network and enter the password.
  • Wait for it to confirm connection.

Check Printer Status on Your Laptop

  • On your laptop, go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners.
  • If the printer is listed as offline, right-click it and select "Use Printer Online".
  • If it’s not listed or still offline, click “Add a printer or scanner” and let it search.

Reinstall Printer Drivers (if needed)

  • Visit the HP Support website and download the latest drivers for your printer.
  • Install them and follow the setup instructions.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hi, thanks for the advice. Actually what I finally needed to do was delete the printer name then add it again as a new printer.
