Hi, @Tomg881

The latest driver HP has for that model card installs version 2024.0.10.227.

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp142001-142500/sp142328.exe

I have the same model card in two HP 255 G7 business class notebooks.

I installed that driver version, and the card works fine for me in both notebooks.

The driver version I have currently is 2024.10.138.3,  no matter how I try to install that file you mentioned, by either automatic install or browse the computer and point it to the file directly and include subfolders, message is that I have the latest driver installed.  Looking at driver numbers, to me, I have no idea which is new or older.  HP is bad at driver updates.  When I have it search specifically for drivers for my specific model it shows in  red a critical Realtek update needed that is well over a year old.   When you let it know which operating system you have 22H2 isn't  even listed.  Thanks for your help Paul.  Trying to keep a Windows computer updated and running correctly is like a part time job.

Interesting.

You must have a different hardware revision of the RTL8821CE card than my notebooks have.

The HPdriver I just posted was the only driver I was aware of, and it is good for several model Realtek cards.

RTL8821CE, RTL8822BE, RTL8822CE, RTL8852AE, RTL8852BE, and RTL8852CE wireless LAN Controllers

I agree with you...getting certain things to work right requires a lot of time and effort.
