Hi ,

I am having the exact same problem mentioned in the thread.

Was the issue resolved after replacing/reconnecting the WLAN module ?

If yes, was the WLAN module replaced ? or was it not connected properly ?

Best Regards,

Nidin

Thank you for joining HP Forums.}
I'll be glad to help you 🙂

As I understand the WiFi adapter is missing under device manager,

I don't know if it worked for the last user, however, could you attempt the steps mentioned on the same thread (if you haven't already) and tell me if the issue persists?

I would appreciate if you could reply with the steps you've done so far, the product number of your PC and if you receive any error messages while you install drivers from the HP website.

Awaiting your response,

Feel free to post your query for any other assistance as well,

It's been a pleasure interacting with your and I hope you have a good day ahead.

Hi Riddle,

Thanks for the quick reply.

I did all the steps mentioned. Additionally, I did a factory reset also.

Still I am getting the same issue.

The only thing left to do is to open the laptop and check the WLAN card.

Thanks,

Nidin. M

Thank you for the update,
I appreciate your time and efforts,

You are right, however, before you open the laptop and check for the WLAN card connections,

I recommend you run a hardware test on the WiFi adapter using the Hardware diagnostics tool: Click here for details.

Please get back to me with the results of the test,

Also, reply with the product number for further assistance,

Keep me posted,

Hi Riddle,

I will update you with the test details once I do this.

This is what I need to do. Please correct me if I am wrong

1)Download PC Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI) .

2)Select the option 'Component Tests'

3)Select the component 'Network'.

4)Run the tests.

My product is HP Pavilion 15-p077tx.

Kind Regards,

Nidin. M

That's absolutely correct, please proceed with the tests and reply back with the results.

If the test fails, please capture the failure ID as well.

Hi Riddle,

When I try to execute the test, I get the below message

"UEFI Networking does not appear to be supported or enabled on the system. Please check the BIOS settings to make sure UEFI Network option ROMs are enabled and that UEFI network boot is enabled".

Also, is it requied to use the LAN cable to connect to the internet ? or would wifi be enough ?

Thanks,

Nidin. M

Thank you for replying,

If I understand this well, You've ensured the LAN cable is connected and then initiated the test, only to get the message you've described.

I recommend restoring BIOS to defaults as the network boot is supposed to be disabled by default by following the below simple steps:

Turn on your computer and press the key on your keyboard to enter the BIOS. This is typically the Del (delete) key. Pre-built systems from major manufacturers may use a function key such as F1, F2, or F10.

Once done, retry the test and if the issue persists, contact HP for a hardware replacement as it could be a hardware malfunction.
