OMEN 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-c0000 (343L4AV)

Edit: I don't know why, I don't know how. The Laptop managed to autoconnect to the Wifi and I actually was online. I guess the package/install wasn't corrupted/faulty and for whatever reason it just couldn't unpack/install properly.

Hi, apparently the Gaming Hub Software tried to install a "Realtek Omen SDK", which failed.

I can't connect to the Internet, neither via Ethernet, nor via Wifi.

Restarts won't fix it and the following error message only occured after like the 5th restart (incl. opening the Gaming Hub software, every single time).

I get the German message "Das erforderliche Realtek SDK meldet einen Fehler. Um dieses Problem zu beheben, wählen Sie bitte "Aktualisieren", um das OMEN SDK-Paket neu zu installieren."

Basically I should try to reinstall that SDK via the shown Button.

However, I only get a message "Netzwerkfehler" - Network error, since that SDK apparently crashed my Network Adapter.

It seems to me, that I'd need a link to that specific SDK, download it on any device, send it to my Omen-Laptop and install it from there.

Thanks for your time and help!

Hi @whateve112,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It's great to hear that your issue resolved itself and you were able to connect to the internet again. It sounds like an unusual situation where the installation of the Realtek Omen SDK initially caused connectivity issues but eventually resolved without direct intervention. This could have been due to several factors, such as temporary software conflicts, driver issues that were resolved with a system update, or even the Gaming Hub software managing to correct the problem in the background.

For future reference or for anyone experiencing a similar issue, here's a general approach to troubleshooting and resolving network adapter problems caused by software or driver installations:

Check Device Manager for Issues: Open Device Manager to see if there are any issues with your network adapters. Look for any devices with a yellow exclamation mark, which indicates a problem. Right-click on the network device and select "Update driver" or "Uninstall device." If you uninstall it, restart your computer to let Windows attempt to reinstall the driver automatically.

Manually Download and Install the Driver or SDK: If the automatic process doesn't work, manually downloading and installing the driver or SDK from another device, as you mentioned, is a good approach. This can be done by visiting the official HP or Realtek website, searching for your device model, and downloading the latest network drivers or the SDK package.

Use a System Restore Point: If the issue started after installing specific software or a driver, using System Restore to go back to a point before the problem occurred can help. This won't affect your personal files but will remove apps, drivers, and updates installed after the restore point was made.

Network Troubleshooter: Windows includes a network troubleshooter that can automatically find and fix some common connection problems. You can access this by going to Settings > Network & Internet > Status > Network troubleshooter.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
